World Championship Success for Ji Hong Athletes

From April 25-30, 2026, the 5th World Taijiquan Championship took place in Burgas, Bulgaria, bringing together some of the world’s finest Taijiquan athletes to compete at the highest international level. Representing Canada with pride, Ji Hong Wushu and Tai Chi College once again demonstrated why the school continues to be recognized as a leading force in wushu excellence both nationally and worldwide.

Under the coaching and guidance of Master Jennifer Gu, who also served as Head Judge at the World Championship, Ji Hong athletes stepped onto the world stage with focus, discipline, and determination. Competing against elite athletes from around the globe, Team Canada delivered exceptional performances throughout both the Championship and Demonstration divisions.

The Championship division, representing the highest level of elite competition, saw our Ji Hong students achieve outstanding podium finishes for Canada, with Brandon Luo and Yan Khoo each capturing a silver medal in their respective events. Their achievements highlighted the technical precision, composure and dedication required to succeed on the world stage. In addition, Natalie Hai, Alex Fang and Julianna Huang each secured Top 10 placements in all their respective Championship events, further demonstrating the depth and strength of Ji Hong’s elite athletes.

In the Demonstration categories, Team Canada showcased remarkable versatility and mastery across all varieties of Taijiquan styles and weapon routines, with the following Ji Hong students securing an additional 14 podium finishes.

  • Charlene Wong – 2 gold, 1 silver
  • Siaw Kin Lee – 1 gold, 2 bronze
  • Isaac Ha – 3 silver
  • Alexa Thang – 2 silver
  • Jaylin Yim – 3 bronze.

Beyond the medals and rankings, what stood out most throughout the competition was the sportsmanship, unity and support shown by all of our students, who represented both Canada and the school with humility, professionalism and pride. To all our athletes: your dedication, perseverance and passion for Taijiquan continue to inspire our entire community. 第5届世界太极拳锦标赛在完美收官:基宏武术太极拳学院勇夺16 枚奖牌,古岱娟容任裁判长

2026年4月25日至30日,第5届世界太极拳锦标赛在保加利亚布尔加斯成功举办。本次大赛吸引了来自全球38个国家和地区的342名运动员、教练员及官员参与,代表了当前世界太极拳项目的最高竞技水平。

作为加拿大的杰出代表,基宏武术太极拳学院在此次世锦赛上表现优异,向世界展示了其在武术界的顶尖实力。

基宏太极拳学院的古岱娟师父受到国际武术联合会(国际武联)委任,荣誉出任本届世锦赛裁判长,体现了国际武联对她专业能力与行业地位的高度认可。

在古岱娟师父与罗红元师父的悉心培养下,基宏学院的精英运动员们在赛场上沉着应战、奋勇拼搏,展现出了扎实的功底和良好的心理素质。

本届世锦赛设两大类项目:

· 锦标赛项目:云集世界顶级专业运动员,竞争激烈。比赛项目包括自选套路、新标准套路和规定套路

· 表演赛项目:从10 岁到65 岁按年龄分成6 个组别,比赛项目包括规定套路和传统套路
